Ian TupperWelcome to the Ian McCambridge Tupper Scholarship web site, a scholarship created by friends, family and the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

The Ian McCambridge Tupper Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 to help promote the concepts of leadership, education and brotherhood. All of these values are held with high regard by the Sigma Nu Fraternity, and by all of the individuals who have banded together to establish this fund in Ian’s memory.

The scholarship, originally given only to Sigma Nu brothers from the Mu Pi Chapter, is now open to all Sigma Nu brothers in the Philadelphia region, as well as students at Philadelphia University. The IMTSF Board and Philadelphia University are working together to recognize leadership, education and social responsibility in the student population. Our goal is to raise enough funds to support two separate scholarships, one sponsored by the Board for Sigma Nu affiliates, and one sponsored by the University for the general student population. Ian wasn't just a member of the Mu Pi Chapter, he was also an integral part of student life, participating in University sponsored events, SGA and acting as the President of the 2000 graduating class.

After Ian’s passing on New Year’s Day 2004, Ian’s friends and family quickly came together to ensure that Ian would be remembered for some of his best attributes. These are the same qualities that define Sigma Nu as one of the most successful fraternities in the world.

It was decided that the best way to remember Ian is to remind the Brothers of Sigma Nu what it means to live by the governing principles of the Fraternity, and to reward those who exemplify these principles.

The Ian McCambridge Tupper Scholarship Fund was able to award the first scholarship only two years after the establishment of the Fund, and has awarded scholarships to two more worthy individuals since then. This was due to the dedication of Ian’s family and several devoted friends. The members of the Fund’s Board of Trustees would like to thank everyone for their continued support, and we look forward to the leadership, education and brotherhood that this scholarship will inspire.

We also would like to dedicate this to the memory of Ian's mother, Marci, who also passed away. Without her strength, leadership, and support, none of this would have been possible. Click here for more.
